Recipe: Delicious Baloshahi

  1. You need 2 cups of maida.
  2. You need 4 tablespoon of ghee.

A doughnut is soft and spongy whereas Balushahi is flaky and crumbly. The making of doughnut involves yeast whereas Balushahi is prepared with flour, baking powder and curd. Gradually the balushahi will start floating to the top. Turn gently and fry the other side till golden.

Baloshahi step by step

  1. Add flour and baking soda in a bowl.
  2. Add ghee and rub it to attain the texture of bread crumbs.
  3. Add curd and hydrate the mixture. Don't over knead.
  4. Prepare the sugar syrup and let it come to room temperature.
  5. After 45 minutes make donuts of the dough.
  6. Add oil in the kadai. Fry donuts on a low flame until golden brown.
  7. Add in sugar syrup.

The entire process may take around half an hour to forty-five minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on absorbent paper.
